Base Types

Wood Base

Traditional Wood Base Usually made of pine or similar hard wood, with seven or eight support slats. This type provides a feeling of firmness and stability.

Spring Base

It features extra-heavy-duty springs. Since a spring base has coils, this increases the give in the mattress, which in turn produces a softer or bouncier and more luxurious feel. As impact is also shared among a greater number of springs it will aid the durability of the springing system.

Platform Base

Platform bases tend to give a firmer support to a mattress and have been often been associated with less expensive beds. However, in recent years, due to innovations in mattress design, platform bases are increasingly being used with luxury mattresses. This enables a luxury bed to have a relative low height, a popular contemporary look in interior design.
